Bhubaneswar, March 22: Prameya Medhabi Samman–2025, jointly organised by Prameya and News-7, was successfully held on Saturday at the auditorium of Campus-2 of Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University. The event celebrated academic excellence by honouring meritorious students selected from across the state.

Attending as the chief guest, Srikanta Tarai, President of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), emphasised the importance of education and dedication.

He stated that merely setting goals is not enough; students must work hard with commitment to achieve their dreams.

Highlighting the role of mathematics, he said it plays a crucial part in all aspects of life, including art and craftsmanship. He also urged students to respect their parents and teachers while nurturing their inner talent.

Among the distinguished guests, Prof. Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal, Vice-Chancellor of Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR), advised students not to compare themselves with others.

He stressed that true success lies in becoming the hero of one’s own journey. While academic scores are important, he said, values and humanity are equally essential for long-term success.

Similarly, Prof. Prashanta Kumar Patra, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of SOA, encouraged students to focus on skill development rather than chasing jobs.

“If you build your capabilities, opportunities will follow,” he remarked. He also advised students to maintain discipline, study regularly for five to six hours daily, take care of their health, and use mobile phones wisely for academic purposes.

Speaking on the occasion, Gopal Krishna Mohapatra, Group Editor of Prameya and News7, said the initiative aims to promote education and encourage students.

He highlighted that around 5,000 students appeared for the scholarship test conducted at 36 centres, out of which the top 100 were selected for the honour. He added that every student has potential and success depends on continuous effort and discipline.

Sunil Kumar Das, CEO of Summa Real Media Private Limited, noted that this recognition marks just the beginning of a student’s journey and called for perseverance, patience, and knowledge to achieve success.

He also advised students to remain grounded, respect their mother tongue, and contribute to society.

Himanshu Hota, Group Director (Sales & Marketing) of Prameya and News7 said the initiative was aimed at boosting students’ confidence through the Madhyamik Mathematics Scholarship examination. He informed that over 5,000 students appeared at 36 centres across the state, and the top 100 were selected for the honour.

He added that in a competitive country like India, recognising talent and providing a platform for growth is essential.

Speaking on the occasion, News7 Working Editor Deb Narayan Sethi stressed the importance of consistency in studies. He urged students to remain focused and disciplined in their academic pursuits.

On this occasion, the top 100 students of the Madhyamik Mathematics Scholarship–2025 were felicitated. A special session titled ‘Margdarshan’ was also organised to guide students on career options after matriculation. Several educationists and dignitaries participated in the discussion, offering valuable insights to the students and their parents.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a successful celebration of young talent and academic achievement in Odisha.
