Three Apprehended Over Security Breach at Delhi Assembly

New Delhi, April 6: Delhi Police apprehended three individuals, including Sarabjit, a driver from Puranpur, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with a security breach at the Delhi Assembly. Sarabjit crashed through Gate No. 2 at 2:10 PM, bypassing the boom barrier. He entered the premises, placed a bouquet and garland in Speaker Vijender Gupta's official car, and was confronted by staff, causing chaos. The accused managed to flee within 6 minutes, escaping through the same gate.

The vehicle was later seized in Rupnagar by the North District police. Pilibhit's SP confirmed Sarabjit's identity, noting the vehicle was registered in Pilibhit. BJP MLA Harish Khurana expressed concerns about security, referencing prior threats received by the Delhi Chief Minister and Speaker Gupta. He called for stricter measures and immediate action from the police.

Earlier in March, the Delhi Assembly had received multiple threatening emails, including bomb threats targeting the Assembly and its Speaker, further raising security concerns.
