Tata Tiago Fresh Aesthetic Facelift

Tata Motors has officially revealed its redesigned Tiago and Tiago EV models ahead of the upcoming market launch on May 28. These entry-level hatchbacks receive an extensive exterior styling upgrade to remain competitive in the evolving passenger vehicle market. Borrowing design cues from the premium Altroz sibling, the updated models display a sleeker nose profile featuring crisp LED headlamps, integrated daytime running lights, and a gloss-black front grille structure.

Enhanced Tech Packages

Buyers looking for advanced safety will notice the inclusion of a front-facing camera component integrated into the grille. This addition confirms that the upcoming variants will feature a 360-degree camera system, marking a significant technology upgrade for this vehicle classification. While the silhouette remains consistent with the current generations, fresh body-colored accents, blacked-out wheel arch trim, and dual-tone multi-spoke alloy wheels enhance the side profile.

Strategic Cabin Updates

Interior cabin revisions remain under wraps for a few more days, though initial reports suggest a larger freestanding touchscreen unit and upgraded seating materials. Regarding regional consumer trends, fuel-efficient compact hatchbacks continue to experience strong demand across emerging urban markets like Bhubaneswar and Cuttack due to tight city congestion and rising fuel expenses. Introducing these premium creature comforts allows the domestic auto manufacturer to maintain its strong foothold against traditional Japanese and Korean competitors.

Powertrain Specifications

Mechanically, the internal combustion engine variant preserves the reliable 1.2-litre naturally aspirated Revotron petrol motor, producing 86 horsepower. This engine remains paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or an automated manual gearbox alongside the dual-cylinder factory CNG configuration. For the battery-powered variant, industry sources indicate that the previous entry-level nineteen kilowatt-hour battery will be phased out entirely.

Battery Technology Evolution

Instead, the manufacturer plans to standardize the twenty-four kilowatt-hour pack for base variants, while introducing a high-capacity thirty kilowatt-hour pack for extended-range derivatives. This premium electric option will utilize dense prismatic battery technology sourced from Gotion to boost real-world driving efficiency to roughly 366 kilometers per charge. Official pricing details for both versions will be announced during the commercial release event next week.
