Puri,July 16: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created 100 miniature sand chariots (raths)on the beach at Puri to celebrate the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra.
The intricate sand installation pays tribute to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra ahead of the grand festival, which draws millions of devotees from across the world. Each miniature rath has been meticulously sculpted, showcasing the rich cultural and spiritual heritage associated with Odisha's biggest festival.
Through the unique artwork, Pattnaik conveyed a message of devotion and extended his greetings to devotees on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra. The installation has attracted tourists and pilgrims visiting the Puri beach, adding to the festive spirit in the temple town.
Every year, the internationally acclaimed sand artist marks major festivals and significant events with elaborate sand sculptures, and this year's creation of 100 miniature raths stands out as a fitting tribute to the centuries-old tradition of Lord Jagannath's annual sojourn to the Gundicha Temple.
