Bhubaneswar, Jan 15: On the sixth day of the ongoing Sisir Saras–2026 Mela at the IDCO Exhibition Ground here, a training workshop on “Grassroots innovations for rural prosperity” was organized today.

The primary objective of the workshop was to encourage rural entrepreneurs and members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to adopt low-cost, simple and resource-efficient technologies to strengthen rural livelihoods.

Discussions were held on practical approaches related to higher production at lower cost, primary processing techniques, enhancement of productivity, and the adoption of innovative technologies that help ensure quality consistency of products.

Members of Self-Help Groups (SHG), rural entrepreneurs and producer groups participated in the workshop and gained insights into selecting appropriate technologies, integrating traditional practices with modern innovations, and implementing sustainable production methods.

Experts from the National Innovation Foundation (NIF), Bhubaneswar, participated in the programme and interacted with the participants on various grassroots-level innovations, their practical applications, and emphasized the importance of technology dissemination in strengthening the rural economy and promoting sustainable development.
