Mumbai, July 29: With a humble gesture, Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday bowed down before his Maestro coach RV Achrekar on account of Guru Purnima, a day dedicated to the divine teachers.
Recalling the Maestro’s master-classes on the pious occasion, Sachin paid heartfelt obeisance to his Guru, at the memorial shrine of Achrekar.
Burst in tears the master-blaster offered floral tributes & heartfelt gratitude to the universal coach in his memoriam, as part of Guru Pujan.
With emotional notes on X, Sachin Tendulkar wrote, “Standing here today, I realised something. No matter how many years pass, I’ll always feel like I have one more ‘thank you’ left to say. Thank you for believing in me, guiding me, and helping me become the person I am. Happy Guru Purnima, Achrekar Sir.”

Worth mentioning, Ramakant Vitthal Achrekar was an ace Indian cricket coach from Mumbai. He was most famous for coaching young cricketers at Shivaji Park in Dadar, Mumbai, most notably Sachin Tendulkar and Amol Muzumdar.
He had also been a selector for the Mumbai cricket team who later won the Dronacharya Award in 1990 and Padma Shri in 2010,for his extraordinary contribution to the world’s games & sports.
