Puri, Jul 16: With lakhs of devotees expected to gather for the world-famous Rath Yatra 2026, the Puri Police has issued a public advisory urging pilgrims not to panic in case of illness or any medical emergency during the festival.
In its advisory, the police appealed to devotees to immediately visit the nearest First Aid Centre if they experience any health issues while attending the Rath Yatra. Medical teams and emergency healthcare facilities have been stationed at multiple locations along the Grand Road (Bada Danda) and other key areas to provide prompt treatment.
The advisory states:
"If you feel unwell or face any medical emergency during Rath Yatra 2026, don't panic. Visit the nearest First Aid Centre for immediate medical assistance."
The initiative is part of the comprehensive safety and emergency preparedness measures put in place by the Odisha government and Puri Police to ensure a safe and smooth Rath Yatra for millions of devotees.
Authorities have advised pilgrims to remain hydrated, avoid overcrowded areas whenever possible, follow the directions of police and volunteers, and seek medical help without delay if they feel dizzy, exhausted, or develop any health complications.
The Puri administration has deployed medical personnel, ambulances, emergency response teams, and first aid centres across the pilgrimage route to provide immediate assistance throughout the festival.
