Bhubaneswar, July 7: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced the introduction of a new train service for North Odisha, a move aimed at further strengthening rail connectivity across the state.
The announcement came in response to demands for improved railway links in the northern region of Odisha. Addressing the issue, the minister stated that the Centre is committed to ensuring balanced railway development throughout the state and assured that North Odisha will receive dedicated train services to cater to the growing travel needs of the region.
Vaishnaw highlighted that significant efforts have already been made to expand rail services in Western, Southern and Coastal Odisha. Following the same approach, the railway network in North Odisha will also be enhanced to provide better connectivity and greater convenience to passengers.
Reaffirming the government's focus on infrastructure development, the Railway Minister said the continuous expansion of Odisha’s rail network remains a priority, with initiatives being undertaken to improve passenger services and strengthen transportation links across all regions.
The announcement reflects the Centre’s broader vision of balanced regional growth. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has been prioritising railway infrastructure development to ensure every part of Odisha benefits from improved connectivity, making travel safer, faster and more accessible for the public.
