Kozhikode, Kerala, July 6: A Fast Track Special Court in Kozhikode, Kerala, has on Monday sentenced a 56-year-old man to 42 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl.
The court also imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh on the convict.
Fast Track Special Court Judge Devan K. Menon found Chandran (56), a resident of Kallipperambil in Peruvannamuzhi, guilty of the offence and awarded the sentence on Monday.
Chandran was employed at the Koothali District Agricultural Farm, a Central Government institution, at the time of the incident.
