Prohibitory Orders Section 163 imposed, internet services suspended in Sundargarh after group clash

Prohibitory order under BNS, Section 163 was imposed and Internet services were suspended in Sundargarh for 24 hours following a group clash on Thursday. The district administration has ordered the shutdown from 6 pm today for the next 24 hours as a precautionary measure.

​​​​​​​Rourkela, Jan 15: Prohibitory order under BNS, Section 163 was imposed and Internet services were suspended in Sundargarh for 24 hours following a group clash on Thursday.

The district administration has ordered the shutdown from 6 pm today for the next 24 hours as a precautionary measure.

In view of the prevailing tension, prohibitory orders under BNS Section 163 were imposed in the region. Simillarly to maintain law and order situations, at least 10 platoons of police & armed forces have been deployed in the sensitive areas.

Worth mentioning, tension escalated at Regent Market inn Sundargarh earlier today, as two groups clashed and resorted to stone pelting at each other over trading of some illegal commodities.

Western Range DIG Brijesh Rai meanwhile appealed to the public to maintain peace and harmony. The Superintendent of Police also convened a peace committee meeting to resolve the situation amicably.
