New Delhi, March 30: On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, President Droupadi Murmu extended her heartfelt greetings to all citizens, particularly to the Jain community. In her message, she highlighted the enduring relevance of Bhagwan Mahavir’s five core principles — Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truth), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (self-control), and Aparigraha (non-possessiveness). These principles, she said, serve as guiding lights for leading a righteous and meaningful life.
"On this auspicious day of Mahavir Jayanti, I convey my warm wishes to all fellow citizens, especially the Jain community. By incorporating these principles into our daily lives, we can contribute to individual growth and foster positive societal change," President Murmu remarked. She also reflected on Bhagwan Mahavir’s unwavering stance against societal ills, emphasizing that his teachings continue to offer valuable insights for leading a better life.
The President urged all citizens to dedicate themselves to the principles of Bhagwan Mahavir, committing to personal transformation and working towards the collective progress of the nation.
