Mayurbhanj, June 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Pahadpur village of Odisha's Mayurbhanj district on Saturday morning.
The Prime Minister visited Pahadpur, the ancestral village of President Droupadi Murmu. The visit holds special significance as both leaders are expected to take part in programmes focused on tribal welfare, education, and skill development initiatives in the region.
The Prime Minister landed at around 11:40 a.m. in an MI-17 helicopter and was welcomed by President Droupadi Murmu, Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
During his visit, Modi is set to inaugurate and launch multiple projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure, connectivity, and socio-economic growth in Odisha. The projects cover key sectors including energy, industrial infrastructure, road networks, drinking water supply, healthcare, education, tourism, and irrigation.
President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi will attend a programme in Rairangpur marking the completion of two years of the Odisha government. The event is being organised under the theme, “Vikas ra Dhara, Odisha Sara.”
According to official sources, development projects worth more than Rs 47,600 crore will be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid during the programme. These initiatives are expected to contribute significantly to Odisha's development across several critical sectors and strengthen the state's growth trajectory.
