PM Modi extends Guru Purnima greetings, shares Sanskrit Subhashitam on role of teachers

New Delhi, July 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended warm greetings to the nation on the occasion of Guru Purnima, highlighting the invaluable role of teachers in shaping individuals through knowledge, values and positive energy.

In a message, the Prime Minister said that gurus do much more than impart education—they inspire their students with noble thoughts, good values and optimism, helping them become responsible and enlightened individuals. He urged people to follow the ideals of their teachers as a guiding force in life.

Sharing a SanskritSubhashitamon social media platform X, Modi wrote:

The verse describes six forms of a guru—one who inspires, guides, imparts knowledge, shows the righteous path, educates and awakens the truth, ultimately leading individuals towards self-development and wisdom.

In his post on X, the Prime Minister said:

The message underscores the significance of Guru Purnima as an occasion to honour teachers and mentors for their enduring contribution to personal growth and nation-building.
