Keonjhar, April 30: The shocking incident of a man exhuming his deceased sister’s remains to withdraw money from her bank account has triggered outrage across the country and continues to dominate public discourse.

Amid the widespread attention, Jitu Munda has received financial assistance from Alakh Pandey, CEO of Physics Wallah, who extended ₹10 lakh through an online transfer. In addition, two former state Congress presidents have also provided financial support amounting to ₹24,000.

The case has also reached the National Human Rights Commission, where a complaint has been filed over the incident.

According to reports, Jitu Munda, a resident of Mallipashi area in Kendujhar district, had approached a bank to withdraw money from his deceased sister’s account. However, bank officials demanded proof, prompting him to bring her skeletal remains to the bank, leading to a disturbing scene.

The incident soon drew administrative attention, with the district collector and a minister intervening to ensure that Jitu received the funds. Acting on the directions of the Chief Minister, an inquiry was conducted by the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), which reportedly found negligence on the part of the bank staff.
