Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma dismantle Netherlands securing huge 95 run World Cup win

India dominates Netherlands by 95 runs through brilliant teamwork

India secured an emphatic 95-run victory against the Netherlands at Leeds during their latest India Women's T20 World Cup clash. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma delivered spectacular batting performances, building a solid foundation for the team. Shree Charani then dismantled the Dutch batting lineup with exceptional bowling figures of 4/19.

Record Breaking Opening Stand

Opting to field first proved costly for the Netherlands. Mandhana and Verma aggressively attacked the bowlers right from the start. They propelled their team to 59 runs without loss during the powerplay. This stands as India's best powerplay score in tournament history. Verma reached her maiden T20 World Cup half-century in just 34 deliveries. The explosive opening pair put together a rapid 115-run partnership. Mandhana continued her stellar form, scoring a brilliant 74 off 47 balls. She hit eleven boundaries and one six before being dismissed.

Richa Ghosh and captain Harmanpreet Kaur maintained the momentum in the final overs. Deepti Sharma also contributed quick runs. Their combined efforts pushed the final total to a daunting 209/5. This remarkable score marks India's highest ever total in any T20 World Cup match. Women's cricket enjoys immense support back home, and such dominating international performances continue to inspire millions of young athletes across India.

Bowling Unit Delivers Perfect Finish

Facing a steep target, the Dutch team struggled to build substantial partnerships. Heather Siegers and Phebe Molkenboer attempted an early fightback. However, Nandni quickly halted their progress. As the required run rate climbed, the middle order collapsed under pressure. Shafali returned to take three crucial wickets, proving her immense value as an all-rounder. Charani led the bowling attack perfectly, taking four wickets. The Netherlands crumbled from 96/4 to 114 all out in under eighteen overs. India now comfortably leads Group A with four points.
