Bhubaneswar, July 14: After a prolonged gap, the Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC) has recommended a 25 per cent production subsidy for five Odia feature films under the Odisha Film Policy, 2019. The recommendation was forwarded to the Directorate of Industries on Tuesday.
The films recommended for the subsidy are ‘'T'’, produced by Jitesh Kumar Films Production House; ‘Dewa', produced by RS Production House; 'My Sweet House Wife' and 'Aafaa', produced by Mystic Cl Claps Production House; and 'Bideha', produced by Twenty Four January Production House.
Under the provisions of the Odisha Film Policy, 2019, producers seeking financial assistance must submit applications to OFDC both before and after the release of their films.
To qualify for the subsidy, the films must have been shot in Odisha. Producers are also required to furnish details of the production expenditure along with a certificate from the concerned District Collector certifying the expenditure incurred in the state.
After verifying all documents through a government-appointed committee, OFDC forwards eligible proposals to the Directorate of Industries for approval and disbursement of the subsidy.
Following the prescribed evaluation process, OFDC has recommended a 25 per cent subsidy for the five Odia films.
