Bhubaneswar, Jul 8: The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday launched simultaneous searches at four locations linked to Rabindra Kumar Nayak, Forest Ranger of the Kendrapada Forest Range, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The searches are being carried out on the strength of warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Cuttack, as part of an ongoing investigation into the disproportionate assets (DA) case.

A team comprising five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), nine Inspectors, five Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting personnel has been deployed to conduct the raids.

The Vigilance teams are carrying out searches at the following locations:

  1. A four-storeyed residential building owned by Nayak at Munduli, Godisahi under Baranga Police Station in Cuttack district.
  2. His parental house at Sahadapada under Banki Police Station in Cuttack district.
  3. His office chamber at the Kendrapada Forest Range.
  4. His temporary residence in Kendrapada.

The searches are currently in progress, and officials are examining documents, financial records, and other materials relevant to the investigation.

A comprehensive report on the assets unearthed during the raids is expected after the search operations are completed. Further details are awaited.
