
Bhubaneswar: India’s Para fencing contingent achieved at the Para Fencing World Cup 2025 in Solo, Indonesia, as the Men’s foil team clinched bronze medal at this prestigious international event.
The Indian team, composed of Rakhal Kumar Sethy, V Ramesh Rao, and Omm Prakash Behera all from Odisha delivered an outstanding performance to secure the bronze medal.
In the quarterfinal match, India defeated Iraq with a score of 20–16. However, in the semifinals, India went down fighting against Thailand, 06–20. In the bronze medal match, India staged a thrilling victory over Germany with a close margin of 20–18.
This achievement not only marks a for Indian Para Fencing but also showcases the growing strength and determination of Indian para fencing on the global stage. Congratulating Team para fencing on his success, Kamala Kanta Ratha, President, and Sunil Pradhan, Secretary of Para Sports Association of Odisha, said “Para athletes from Odisha are consistently achieving success in various sports, bringing pride and glory to the state.”
