Odisha invites public feedback on revised school textbooks after error controversy

Bhubaneswar, July 3: Amid the controversy over errors in textbooks for Classes I to VIII, the Odisha government has invited suggestions from educationists and the general public on the revised editions.

The School and Mass Education Department has asked citizens to submit their feedback within seven days through email or the designated toll-free helpline. Suggestions can be sent to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) or through the helpline number 1800-345-6722.

School and Mass Education Secretary N. Thirumala Naik had announced the initiative during a press conference on Thursday, stating that the government is preparing error-free textbooks for students from Classes I to VIII.

As part of the revision process, the corrected textbooks will be uploaded on the OSEPA and the department's official websites for public review before they are finalised. Feedback received from educationists and citizens will be taken into consideration while preparing the final versions.

The Secretary said that until the revised textbooks are printed and distributed, teachers will be provided with the corrected content to ensure that classroom teaching continues without interruption.
