Bhubaneswar, May 8: A dedicated television channel on Lord Jagannath is likely to be launched soon by the Odisha Government. A high-level meeting regarding the proposed channel was held under the chairmanship of Odisha Minister Prithviraj Harichandan at the Law Department conference hall in Lok Seva Bhavan.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the proposed channel’s framework, daily programming, promotion of Jagannath culture, and showcasing the emotions and spiritual devotion of devotees towards Lord Jagannath. Various proposals related to spreading Jagannath culture across the globe were also discussed.
Speaking after the meeting, Minister Harichandan said the preliminary discussions on the establishment of the channel were highly positive. He said the State Government is seriously considering the proposal to create a platform that would promote research, discussion, and global awareness on Jagannath culture while also highlighting devotees’ experiences and faith associated with the deity.
The Minister further informed that more rounds of discussions will be held and a detailed roadmap for the proposed channel will be prepared in the coming days.
Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee and senior officials of the Law Department were present at the meeting.
