Bhubaneswar, July 17: A Programmatic Transaction Advisory Services Agreement (TASA) has been signed between the Odisha government and International Finance Corporation (IFC) today.
The aim of the agreement is to strengthening the PPP ecosystem in the state is a key expected outcome from this engagement. The signing ceremony was held under the chairpersonship of Chief Secretar, Anu Garg.
The Chief Secretary emphasised on how mobilization of private capital investment is critical to recognition of Odisha at the national and global level in line with ViksitOdisha 2036.
She further stressed on the role of IFC, the private financing arm of the World Bank Group, as the knowledge partner for strengthening the PPP ecosystem of the state.
ShalabhTandon, Regional Head of Operations & Acting Regional Director (South Asia), IFC mentioned that the engagement with Government of Odisha is a high priority agenda item and IFC looks forward to making this engagement effective.
This joint collaboration aims at mobilizing private investment in major infrastructure projects of the state by building a pipeline of doable Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Projects.
Over a period of one year, IFC will identify at least 20 projects with a cumulative cost of USD 2 Billion across key priority sectors like renewable energy, transmission, logistics and transport, urban infrastructure, e-mobility etc.
