Bhubaneswar, May 29: The Odisha government has announced a hike in minimum wages for various categories of workers engaged under the MGNREGA scheme. The Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department has increased the daily wage rate by Rs 10 for eligible labourers.
According to the revised wage structure, semi-skilled workers will now receive a daily wage of Rs 522, while skilled workers will be paid Rs 572 per day. The wages for highly skilled workers have been increased to Rs 622 per day.
The revised wage rates will come into effect from April 1, 2026. Additional Secretary Arup Kumar Sahu has issued directives to all district collectors, Chief Development Officers (CDOs) of Zilla Parishads, and Block Development Officers (BDOs) to implement the new wage structure across the state.
