Bhubaneswar, April 5: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to head to Assam today.
Majhi will campaign for BJP in the state’s upper districts including Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, among other key places containing thick population of Odias.
According to sources, Majhi will campaign in Assam with a rally planned in Khowang in Dibrugarh. He is set to address voters in support of BJP candidate Chakradhar Gogoi ahead of the Assam Assembly elections.
The visit follows his recent campaign activities in West Bengal, where he supported BJP candidates during nomination filings in Birbhum district & other places.
The campaign also has a clear strategic focus. Districts like Dibrugarh and Tinsukia have a large population of Odia migrants, many of whom work in tea estates.
This community forms an important voter base, and outreach by a leader from Odisha is aimed at building a strong cultural and emotional connect, assess political experts.
