​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, April 6:The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) suspended two senior leaders, Muktikanta Mandal and Manjulata Mandal, on Monday, citing allegations of engaging in activities detrimental to the party's interests.

Manjulata Mandal, a former Member of Parliament from Bhadrak, and Muktikanta Mandal, the former MLA from Dhamnagar, were removed from their positions within the party due to "internal disciplinary issues." Sources within the party suggest that the suspension followed accusations regarding actions that were allegedly contrary to the party's principles.

The official suspension notice read, "Manjulata Mandal, State Council Member of BJD, and Muktikanta Mandal, Member of BJD from Bhadrak district, are hereby suspended from the party with immediate effect due to their involvement in anti-party activities."

Although the BJD leadership has refrained from offering any specific details behind the decision, this move highlights the party's firm stance on maintaining discipline and loyalty among its members.
