Bhubaneswar, Sept 22: Renowned Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar remains in a critical condition, with particular concern for his central nervous system, as per a statement from Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
“He is currently in the ICU, breathing room air. While other organs are functioning normally, the damage to his central nervous system is severe and will require time to recover. We are closely monitoring his condition and administering the best possible treatment,” Dr. Biswas shared on Sunday.
Majumdar, who was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on September 4 after his condition worsened following initial treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack, is in a coma and is being supported by a ventilator in the Central ICU under the General Medicine department.
The music director is facing multiple health challenges, including hypertension, hyperthyroidism, liver disease, pneumonia, and severe lung infections.
