Nuapada, November 8: With the campaigning window set to close for Nuapada Assembly bypoll tomorrow, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday held a massive roadshow from Khariar to Nuapada and asserted that holistic development of the constituency will be his responsibility.
“I will look after the development of Nuapada. As development of the constituency will be taken care of by me, it will certainly progress. After election, everybody will leave the place but only two persons - Jay Dholakia and Mohan Majhi - will remain for you here,” asserted the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister also targeted BJD president and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his Government for neglect of the tribals over the past 24 years.
The Chief Minister was campaigning in support of BJP candidate Jay Dholakia, son of BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia, whose death necessitated the bypoll.
Upon his arrival in Nuapada earlier today to give the final push for party candidate Jay Dholakia ahead of the campaign's conclusion tomorrow at 4 PM, CM Majhi reviewed the final strategies with party president Manmohan Samal and Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari.
Samal and Pujari also participated in the roadshow.
Election will be held on November 11 while results will be declared on November 14. Snehagini Chhuria is contesting the byelection on a BJD ticket while Congress has fielded Ghasiram Majhi for the crucial electoral battle.
