Bhubaneswar, July 21: The National Security Guard (NSG) has commenced a specialised counter-terrorism training programme for Odisha Police personnel, marking a significant step towards enhancing the state's preparedness to deal with terror-related threats and other high-risk situations.
The training is being conducted under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier this month between the NSG and the Odisha Police. A larger batch of personnel will undergo intensive training at the newly established Counter Terrorism Training Facility located at the Special Operations Group (SOG) campus in Chandaka.
The comprehensive programme includes modules on urban counter-terrorism tactics, hostage rescue operations, VIP security, sniper skills, defensive driving and emergency response.
