Novel "Aparapaksha" unveiled at Odia University; eminent personalities attend literary festival

Novel "Aparapaksha" unveiled at Odia University; eminent personalities attend literary festival

Satyabadi, July 23: Renowned Odia novelist Kalandi Samal's latest novel, "Aparapaksha," was unveiled at the campus of Odia University in Satyabadi during the Sarala Sahitya Utsav, organised by the Sarala Language, Literature and Archaeological Research Trust. The event witnessed the participation of prominent personalities from the fields of literature, art, culture, politics, and cinema.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the rendition of Bande Utkala Janani. Managing Trustee Ajit Das welcomed the guests and highlighted the Trust's efforts to promote Odia language and literature.

Among the dignitaries present were Padma Shri Prabhakar Maharana, Prof. Satyanarayan Acharya, Vice-Chancellor of Odia University, Dr. Chandrasekhar Hota, Secretary of the Odia Sahitya Akademi, Dr. Aravinda Ray, literary critic Dr. Bikram Keshari Jena, and actor-producer Pritiraj Satpathy.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers praised "Aparapaksha" for its literary depth, contemporary relevance, and the creative vision of its author. Former BJP Odisha president Sameer Mohanty and senior leader Sajjan Sharma also attended the event.

During the programme, Pritiraj Satpathy announced that an Odia feature film would soon be shot on the Odia University campus in response to requests from students, drawing applause from the audience.
