Bhubaneswar, March 8: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday extended his greetings on the occasion of the International Women’s Day saying his Government is according the highest priority to the comprehensive development and empowerment of women as “Nari Shakti is indeed the true strength of society.”

Majhi said it is a day to honour the contributions of women in building individuals, societies, and nations.

“On the occasion of International Women's Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings and congratulations to the Nari Shakti of the State. Nari Shakti is indeed the true strength of society. With this firm belief, our Government is according the highest priority to the comprehensive development and empowerment of women,” Majhi posted on ‘X’.

The Chief Minister highlighted several women-specific welfare schemes – Subhadra Yojana, Lakhsapati Didi campaign, Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala, Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivaah Yojana, Mamata Yojana, 'Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana – introduced for the holistic development of the women of the State.

“Today, women of Odisha are attaining financial independence through the 'Subhadra' scheme, while 'Lakhsapati Didi' campaign fosters financial literacy, entrepreneurship,” wrote the CM.

“The 'Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala' scheme is set to bring a new revolution in the field of education for the bright future of girls, while the 'Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivaah Yojana' is strengthening social security. Similarly, through the 'Mamata' and 'Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana' schemes, the welfare of mothers and children is being ensured. Innovative initiatives like the 'Subhadra Wellness Centre' and 'Subhadra Shakti Sammelan' are further strengthen community support and women’s wellbeing,” wrote the Chief Minister.

The CM further wrote, “The fundamental goal of all our efforts is to provide respect and equal opportunities to Nari Shakti. From health to self-reliance, we are committed to advancing women's power in every sector. Let us celebrate the indomitable courage and successes of women and participate in building an egalitarian society.”
