Angul, Ap 25: A minor girl, who was reportedly abducted from Samkoir in Angul, committed suicide at the Sakhi Center, where she had been placed by the police after her rescue.

The tragic incident follows the recent suicide of the young man who allegedly eloped with the girl on April 1.

According to reports, he had accused his parents of mental harassment by the police before taking his own life last Thursday night. Following his death, the minor girl was rescued from his residence.

Authorities confirmed that the boy and the girl had entered into a love marriage, which had led to family disputes.

The Angul Sadar Police had been investigating the case after the girl’s family filed a formal complaint alleging abduction.
