Bhubaneswar, March 26: In a decisive move against the illegal hoarding, storage, and smuggling of domestic LPG cylinders, Dr. Satyjit Naik, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Central Range, Cuttack, held a review of ongoing enforcement actions in light of the recent Middle East crisis.
Dr. Naik directed the Superintendents of Police in seven districts—Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Jajpur—to intensify operations against illegal activities surrounding LPG cylinders.
As part of these efforts, one individual was arrested, and 16 domestic LPG cylinders were seized in Kendrapara District. A case has been filed at Sadar Police Station under Sections 303(2) and 317(2) of the BNS and the 7 EC Act. Similarly, in Nayagarh District, one more arrest was made, and seven domestic LPG cylinders were confiscated. A case has been registered at Daspalla Police Station under the 7 EC Act, as confirmed by Dr. Naik.
Dr. Satyjit Naik emphasized that the police will take stern action against those involved in illegal hoarding and black-marketing of essential commodities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the public.
