Angul, July 2: A man, posing as a Police Constable was nabbed on Thursday while moving around the District Police Office (DPO) Angul.

The accused, identified as Rabi Narayan who belongs to the Chhendipada area under the Chhendipada Police limit was detained after some fake documents relating to his Constable Job were recovered from his possession.

According to report, the man was loitering around the SP office, Angul today donning full police constable with duly tagged name, chest number & badge and was pretending as if he was on official duty.

Suspecting his unusual activities mismatching police behavior, he was interrogated by cops enquiring his whereabouts and place of posting, that he could not substantiate with suitable answers.

Following this, he was detained by the Angul Police for further interrogation. During the preliminary inquiry, the police recovered a forged Odisha Police joining letter from his possession that ascertained about his fake identity.

He was later taken to custody on the charges of faking government documents and impersonating as a cop.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain his intends behind the daring bid.
