Malkangiri, May 3: In a major breakthrough, Malkangiri police have seized ganja oil estimated at around ₹100 crore. The operation, conducted near the SR Chaka area under Chitrakonda police station, led to the recovery of 2 litres of ganja oil along with 50 kilograms of processed cannabis.
Authorities also confiscated a fully operational mobile hashish oil production unit, including all machinery and equipment used for processing. According to reports, the unit was actively producing illicit oil in the area, prompting the police to launch a targeted operation.
On Sunday morning, under the leadership of SDPO Chitrakonda Pradosh Pradhan, the police team successfully intercepted a vehicle carrying the illegal materials, which was heading towards a remote location. The operation also recovered approximately 800 litres of chemical solvents used in the production process.
The ganja oil production unit has been dismantled, and its potential market value is estimated at around ₹100 crore. The vehicle driver managed to escape into the dense forest, and police are actively searching for him and other accomplices.
Malakangiri SP supervised the operation personally, highlighting the district police’s commitment to curbing drug trafficking in the region.
