Keonjhar, March 22: Police on Sunday identified the miscreant who had allegedly threatened former Odisha PCC Chief Jayadev Jena a couple of days ago, said Keonjhar SDPO.
Informing media on the development, the SDPO briefed that Jena had complained of getting death threat from an incognito caller. The miscreant, on his Whatsapp message had demanded Rs 50 Lakh Ransom from Jena. He also threatened to kill the former Odisha Congress chief, if he fails to comply with.
Based on Jena’s complaint a team of police initiated an investigation during which the miscreant has been traced out based on digital evidence, the SDPO said.
Soon the accused will be apprehended and legal actions will be initiated against him, after the investigation concludes, the SDPO added.
Worth mentioning, with the weird message Jena had sought police protection from the government, anticipating threat to his life.
