Boudh, June 15: Kantamal Police in Boudh district have seized a large consignment of ganja, approximately two quintals, which was cleverly concealed inside a water tanker.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police intercepted a tractor fitted with a water tanker near Tikirapada Road earlier today. During a detailed inspection, officers were shocked to discover that the tanker, which was supposed to carry water, was instead loaded with a substantial quantity of ganja hidden inside.

Following standard legal procedures, the police opened the tanker in the presence of a magistrate and recovered the illegal contraband. The tractor, tanker, and seized ganja have all been confiscated by the authorities.

The driver of the vehicle has been detained for questioning in connection with the case.

Kantamal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Prakash Bhoi stated that the exact quantity of the seized ganja will be confirmed after proper weighing. He further added that an in-depth investigation is underway to trace the source and intended destination of the smuggled consignment.
