Thiruvananthapuram, June 10: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across several parts of Kerala until June 14 and has urged fishermen to avoid venturing into the sea due to adverse weather conditions and strong winds along the coastal regions.
According to the weather agency, wind speeds ranging between 40 and 60 kmph are likely to prevail over the Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep coasts through June 12. In view of the rough sea conditions and inclement weather, the IMD has advised against fishing activities in these areas during the period.
The department has also predicted the possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places across Kerala from June 10 to June 14, prompting authorities to remain vigilant and monitor weather developments closely.
Residents in vulnerable areas have been advised to follow official weather updates and take necessary precautions as the southwest monsoon continues to intensify over the region.
