Phulbani, May 6: Police have unearthed an illegal gun manufacturing and repair unit in the Tumudibandh police limits of Kandhamal. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a police team conducted a raid at Labanya Nagar, where country-made firearms were reportedly being produced and repaired.

During the operation, police seized three country-made guns along with equipment including an iron cutting machine, a drilling machine, and other materials used in firearm manufacturing. Onepersonhas been arrested in connection with the case.

Further investigation is underway, police said.
