Berhampur, Ap 7: A shocking incident occurred in Dengaosta village of Ganjam district when a gold shop owner was shot at by unidentified assailants. The victim, Pavitra Bishoyi, was critically injured after four miscreants on two motorcycles opened fire outside his shop.

According to reports, Bishoyi was returning home after closing his shop on the main road connecting Dengagosta and Bhismagiri when the attackers fired shots from above the shop. The assailants fled the scene in their vehicles after the attack.

Bishoyi sustained a head injury after falling to the ground and was immediately rescued by locals and admitted to a nearby medical facility in serious condition.

Patrapur and Digpahandi police have reached the spot and initiated an investigation. CCTV footage from nearby cameras is being examined to identify the culprits and ascertain the motive behind the attack.
