Odisha Weather Update Reveals Biting Cold And Thick Fog For Next Four Days

Chilly nights and morning fog to continue across Odisha districts

Winter has firmly gripped the state, with the latest data from the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar showing a significant dip in mercury levels across several regions. As of December 26, 2025, dry weather has prevailed throughout the districts, but the biting cold is becoming more pronounced, especially in the interior and hilly pockets.

Current Temperature Trends

The plains of Odisha are experiencing varied extremes. Jharsuguda recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the plains at a chilly 7.2°C, while also touching a high of 29.4°C alongside Paralakhemundi. However, the real "freeze" is felt in the hill stations. Koraput (AMFU) emerged as the coldest spot in the state, with the temperature plummeting to 4.8°C.

In the twin cities, residents are feeling the shivers as well. Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum of 14.6°C, while Cuttack saw the mercury drop to 12.8°C.

Temperature Outlook
