Four human traffickers arrested in Odisha; minor girl rescued from Madhya Pradesh

Athamallik, June 11: Four persons accused of human trafficking have been arrested by Kishorenagar Police in Odisha. The accused were wanted in connection with a case involving human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and abuse of a minor girl.

According to police sources, a case was registered at Kishorenagar Police Station on September 9, 2024, based on a written complaint lodged by a complainant. During the investigation, it was revealed that a minor girl had been lured away from her home on the pretext of providing tailoring training. She was subsequently trafficked and allegedly sold in Madhya Pradesh.

Acting on the findings of the investigation, police successfully rescued the minor girl from Madhya Pradesh and brought her back safely.

In connection with the case, police have arrested four accused persons identified as Sadananda Pradhan, Banita alias Dipali Sahu, Tiruna Sahu, and Samit alias Sumit Choubey. The arrests were made in phases as the investigation progressed.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
