Festive spirit grips the city on Saraswati Puja

Bhubaneswar, Jn 23: Today, the city comes alive with devotion and excitement as Saraswati Puja is celebrated with great enthusiasm. It is Magha Shukla Paksha Panchami, the day dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, learning, and the arts. Students, teachers, and families are offering prayers, seeking blessings for knowledge, success, and creativity.

Schools and colleges are decorated beautifully with flowers and rangoli, and students place new books, notebooks, pens, and musical instruments near the idol of the Goddess for her blessings. Markets are bustling with activity, with people purchasing idols of Saraswati, fresh flowers, fruits, sweets, and puja items. Artisans have displayed exquisitely crafted idols, and bookstores are crowded with parents and children buying stationery for the occasion.

The streets are vibrant and festive, with the aroma of incense and the sounds of devotional songs filling the air. Devotees dressed in yellow attire, the color associated with knowledge and learning, are participating in rituals and offering prayers. Many educational institutions are also organizing cultural programs, music, and dance performances to honor the Goddess of Arts and Wisdom.

Saraswati Puja is more than just a religious festival—it is a celebration of knowledge, education, and creativity. Today, as families and students come together to worship Goddess Saraswati, the city echoes with hope, inspiration, and the pursuit of learning.
