Fertiliser supply to Odisha remains smooth, says Govt

Bhubaneswar, May 23: The Odisha Government has said that fertiliser supplies to the State by the Central Government remain smooth despite the ongoing West Asia crisis and tensions around the Strait of Hormuz.

According to an official release, as on today the fertiliser supply to the State is going on smoothly and the State has availability of enough quantity of fertilisers in comparison to the allocation by end of May 2026.

“The State Government gets allocation of different kinds of fertilisers - Urea, DAP, SSP, MOP, Complex fertilizers - from Government of India in each month. As on today the fertiliser supply to the state is going on smoothly and we have availability of enough quantity of fertilisers in comparison to the allocation by end of May 2026,” the release stated.

The State Government has instructed the fertiliser manufacturers have been instructed to supply 60 per cent of total fertilizers to MARKFED to ensure supply of fertilisers through Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS) and Large-Area Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPCS), it stated.

The PACS and LAMPCS, having larger godowns have been identified to function as fertiliser wholesalers.

Recently, Chief Secretary Anu Garg had taken meeting with representatives of different fertiliser companies supplying fertilizers to Odisha to ensure supply of fertilisers during current unrest in middle-east.

Rigorous enforcement activities are being carried out at dealer points across Odisha to ensure smooth supply.
