Fatal LPG Tanker Crash Sparks Deadly Inferno At Uttar Pradesh Toll Plaza Claiming Four Lives

Four casualties confirmed following catastrophic gas carrier explosion

Four individuals lost their lives after an LPG transport vehicle crashed violently into road dividers in Uttar Pradesh. This devastating collision triggered an uncontrollable blaze near Sihori Toll Plaza in Kaushambi district on the morning of June 26. Such hazardous material accidents on busy national highways often prompt transport departments across states, including Odisha, to demand stricter safety audits for interstate freight fleets.

Local authorities reported that the impact immediately ruptured the storage tank. Gas leaked rapidly across the highway lanes before igniting into a deadly inferno. Driver Dharmendra Dwivedi, originally travelling from Kanpur to Varanasi, found himself trapped inside his mangled cabin. He succumbed to his injuries directly at the scene because he could not escape the rapidly spreading flames. Security cameras captured the fast-moving truck losing control moments before the catastrophic impact.

Casualties Mount after Tragic Collision

Five toll workers suffered severe burns during this sudden disaster while performing their regular duties. Emergency responders quickly moved these critically injured individuals to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital located in Prayagraj for specialized care. Alok Singh passed away during medical treatment the very next day. Two additional employees, Hiramani Singh from Raebareli and Krishnapal Maurya from Lalitpur, later lost their battle with severe burn injuries on Thursday.

Two surviving workers currently receive ongoing medical care at the hospital, fighting to recover from their burns. Kokhraj Station House Officer Chandra Bhushan Maurya confirmed these latest fatalities to local media outlets. Law enforcement officials have secured all deceased individuals for mandatory postmortem examinations while they investigate exactly how the driver lost control of the heavy commercial vehicle.
