Rourkela, July 8: While man-animal conflict is on the rise in Odisha, an elderly man has lost his life following elephant attack on Wednesday.
This time, the incident took place at Dimbatola village under the Koida Forest Range in the Sundargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Jalua Oram.
According to locals, Oram was trampled to death by a tusker near his home this morning, who was out of home due to panic of a straying jumbo. He died on the spot reportedly due to excessive bleeding from his chest.
On being informed, police and forest officials rushed to the spot to take stock of the matter.
Following preliminary inquests at the scene, police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem exams.
