Bhubaneswar: Odisha's Dhenkanal districts lifter Preetismita Bhoi clinched Gold Medal in Girls 44kg category in the 3rd Youth Asian Games at Bahrain today, she created new Asian and World record in the Clean & Jerk category

She won the gold medal by lifting total 158kg in the snatch 66 k.g and clean and jerk - 92kg, said her coach Gopal Krushna Das,

During the Clean and Jerk, she rewrote the new Asian record with 90kg in the second attempt, however in her third and final attempt she created World record with 92Kg of lift,

She started Weightlifting under the guidance of coach Gopal Krishna at Dhenkanal Weightlifting Sub Centre which is run by the Government of Odisha. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated her and wished her good luck for the future.

Now she is at Modinagar with Coach Vijay Sharma who is the mentor of 31-year-old Olympian Mira Bai Chanu.
