Dhamaal 4 Movie Review Shows Ajay Devgn Leading an Insane Treasure Hunt Packed With Wild Laughs

Expect wild laughs as this comedy franchise returns for more

Returning to cinemas, director Indra Kumar brings back his signature slapstick style, offering a chaotic treasure hunt that aims to please family audiences. Guddu, played by Ajay Devgn, runs an antique shop with Johnny (Sanjay Mishra) until they learn about pirate Shaitan Singh’s hidden gold from a man named Prithvi. Before spilling the exact coordinates, Prithvi gets captured by a rival pirate named Adhoora. Fortunately for Prithvi, the precious map burns during a scuffle, making him the sole keeper of the secret location. He escapes to Chamboli, prompting Guddu, Johnny, and a reluctant crew of kids to chase after him.

Odisha single-screen theaters are already witnessing strong crowds as local moviegoers flock to experience this lighthearted Hindi entertainer. Soon enough, familiar faces including Adi (Arshad Warsi), Manav (Jaaved Jaaferi), Lallan (Riteish Deshmukh), and their partners join the frantic race for wealth. Writers Paritosh Painter, Balvinder Singh Suri, Bunty Rathore, and Ved Prakash craft a script packed with goofy gags. Some sequences hit the right notes, like a hilarious human chain formed at sea, generating genuine chuckles for viewers of all ages.

Where the Narrative Falters

Certain comedic attempts fall completely flat on screen. Ghost sequences and stretched interactions drop the pace significantly, relying heavily on tired tropes recycled from earlier movies in the series. While Devgn maintains his reliable comic timing and Deshmukh delivers a spirited performance alongside Anjali Anand, the overarching storyline lacks fresh ideas and genuine surprises.

Final Verdict on This Comedy

Despite narrative shortcomings and inconsistent visual effects from NY VFXWaala, the project remains a safe bet for weekend viewing. Musical additions like the upbeat 'Saree' track keep the energy high. Viewers seeking intellectual cinema might leave disappointed, but fans of loud, old-school Bollywood comedies will undoubtedly find enough reasons to smile.
