Cuttack, Ap 24: In response to the intensifying heatwave, the Cuttack district administration has ordered the closure of all government and private schools, as well as Anganwadi centres, on April 24, 25, and 27.
According to District Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, teachers are required to attend schools and may conduct online classes to ensure the academic syllabus is completed on time. The order also applies to government, aided, and private colleges, though previously scheduled examinations will proceed as planned.
During this period, Anganwadi centres have been instructed to distribute dry rations at home rather than provide cooked meals.
Earlier, schools were allowed to operate on revised morning hours from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, before being shut on April 20 due to rising temperatures. Following a review of worsening conditions, the administration decided to extend the closure.
Officials have been directed to continue census-related work while adhering to heatwave safety protocols.
