Class 12 girl student of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya found hanging

Bhubaneswar, Jan 13: A class 12 girl student of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya was found hanging in her hostel room here on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Utkalika Swain, a resident of Kendrapara district.
According to the police, Swain used her dupatta to hang herself from the ceiling fan in her room.
The girl was alone in her room as two of her roommates had gone to their homes, said the hostel’s warden.
After getting information, officials from the Capital Police station reached the hostel and started an investigation.
Dayanidhi Nayak, inspector in-charge of Capital police station, said an investigation has started to find the reason behind the death.
He said the body will be sent for post-mortem.
