Bhubaneswar, Ap 18: The Odia blockbuster Bou Buttu Bhuta stole the spotlight at the Indian National Cinema Academy (INCA) Awards 2026, winning three top honors, while Ananta secured one award.
At the ceremony held Thursday night, Bou Buttu Bhuta won Best Film (Odia). Lead actor Babushaan Mohanty was awarded Best Actor (Odia), and Archita Sahu received Best Actress (Odia). Meanwhile, Sabyasachi Mohapatra and Kumar C. Dev Mohapatra were recognized as Best Directors for Ananta.
Hosted by the Producers Guild of India, the awards celebrated excellence in cinema across the country. Produced by Tripti Satpathy under Babushaan Films, Bou Buttu Bhuta, released on June 12, 2025, has become the highest-grossing Odia film of all time. The film features Babushaan Mohanty, Archita Sahu, and Aparajita Mohanty in lead roles.
Despite competition from blockbuster releases like Housefull 5 and Sitaare Zameen Par, the film reportedly earned over Rs 20 crore at the box office, solidifying its commercial success.
The awards ceremony, designed to bring together film industries nationwide, attracted several prominent personalities from Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood, and other film sectors, generating significant excitement and recognition for Odia cinema.
