Bhubaneswar, May 13: In a shocking and disturbing incident, a private engineering college student was allegedly gang-raped by her boyfriend and his friends in the Infovalley area of the state capital.

Reports indicate that the student was called to her boyfriend’s room at a mess in Kaimatia, where she was allegedly assaulted by a group of youths. Disturbingly, the victim’s boyfriend is also said to have been involved in the crime.

Following the complaint, the Commissionerate Police acted swiftly, arresting four accused identified as Sipun Behera, Ranjan Behera, Shubhankar Padhi, and Ratikant.

A scientific team visited the crime scene to collect evidence, and a detailed investigation is currently underway. The incident has once again raised serious concerns about women’s safety in the state capital.
